The Laker Invitational Golf Tournament - Supporting Camdenton Athletics!

The Laker Invitation Golf Tournament Come out to the Oaks Golf Course at Tan-Tar-A Resort on Monday, September 2nd for the annual Laker Invitational Golf Tournament!  This tournament benefits the Laker Athletic Boosters, Inc., a tax exempt, non-profit organization.  The Boosters support every Camdenton R3 School District athlete by providing necessary needs such as equipment, facilities, special programs, and improvements.  Over $780,000 has been contributed from 1987 through 2013! Schedule of events The tournament starts with Lunch and registration at 11:30am on Monday, September 2nd.  The golf tournament will have a 1:00pm shotgun start and will be a "Las Vegas Scramble".  Each team will consist of an A, B, C, and D player and teams will be paired using a blind draw conducted by the tournament committee.  Bring your own 4-person team or sign up individually.  Prizes will be awarded for BOTH the blind pairings and the 4 person team pairings...

MIZZOU football enters it's second SEC campaign! We have several University of Missouri alum in the Law Offices of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter & Welch P.C.   With Labor Day quickly approaching, we are excited about the Mizzou football team as it enters it's second year in the SEC.  Coach Pinkel will lead this year's talented team into another tough schedule including away games at Vanderbilt, Georgia, Kentucky, and Ole Miss.         Seven Home games at Faurot Field If you have never been to a Mizzou home football game, you have seven chances to see the Tigers play this year.  The season kicks off on Saturday, August 31st against Murray State at 6:00pm.  Home games include SEC powerhouses like Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and South Carolina.  Get to the stadium early to enjoy the tail-gaiting and other events that happen before each game.  Here is the complete University of Missouri football schedule fo...

It's Shootout time at the Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is a great family friendly event that also helps many local charities.   Do you like seeing boats go fast?  The Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with official speeds of up to 208mph.  This event has donated $100,000+ to 22 different organizations in the Lake area  over the past years. Schools back in session - tips for a safer bus ride

Back to school at the Lake of the Ozarks Summer is almost over and school districts in the area will be starting their new academic year.  Our children will once again be boarding buses for the trip to and from schools.  The Law Offices of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter & Welch, P.C. want to share some tips on how to make riding a school bus safer.   16 Tips for a safer bus ride Be aware of moving traffic. Leave plenty of time to get to the bus stop. Don’t rush. Pay attention to your surroundings; listening to your music player or playing handheld video games may lead to distractions and potential injury. Meet Dana Stoufer! Twenty years ago last March, I walked through the doors of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter & Welch, P.C. as an employee.  I served as a Legal Secretary to one of our attorneys and thoroughly enjoyed my employment.  After the birth of my daughter, I was forced to take a short sabbatical to stay home and care for my child, but during that time, provided fill-in work for the firm when needed.  I came back part-time at the Osage Beach office in 1998 and began working in the probate field. I remain concentrated in the probate field to present date as a Legal Assistant.  I am often asked why I enjoy working in the probate field, as it would seem to be redundant.  This could not be further from the truth.  Working in the probate field contains a vast array of diversity and enables you to venture into almost every aspect of the law.  You are required to delve into real estate law, estate law, family law, bankruptcy, financial...
