Protect our Children According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children , The U.S. Department of Justice reports that in a one-year period of time studied, 797,500 children younger than 18 were reported missing for an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day.  Some other hard hitting statistics from this organization: More than   200,000   children were abducted by family members.
