Schools are restarting, people are settling back into their work schedules... Summer is officially winding down at the Lake of the Ozarks. Before everyone gets too comfortable with their fall schedules, though, it's time for one last summer holiday: Labor Day Weekend!
Labor Day acknowledges and celebrates the contributions American workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country. Amidst all the busyness and excitement of this holiday weekend, the Law Offices of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter, & Welch, P.C. want to remind you that it's important to take time to reflect on the origins of this classic American holiday. Labor Day was established to celebrate the social and economic success of American workers. It was first celebrated on Tuesday, September 5th in 1882 in New York. It gradually spread out across the States until 1894, when Congress passed an act officially designating the first Monday of September as Labor Day.Labor Day acknowledges and celebrates the contributions American workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country. While you're out basking in the last few rays of sunshine this weekend, take a second to congratulate yourself, your family, and your friends on a job well done!
Labor Day Fireworks
As always, several resorts around the Lake area will be hosting spectacular fireworks displays to commemorate this exciting holiday. Your trusted lawyers at the Lake of the Ozarks are here to tell you the best places to watch the displays this weekend.
Tan-Tar-A will host their display on Sunday, August 31st. Tan-Tar-A is located off of KK in Osage Beach. Viewing by land is for resort guests only, but the public can watch from the water at the 26 mile marker.
Bear Bottom Resort
Bear Bottom Resort will host their display on Saturday, August 30th. They are located on Bear Bottom Drive in Sunrise Beach or at the 38 mile marker.
Lodge of the Four Seasons
The Lodge will host their display on Sunday, August 30th. The Lodge is located off of Horseshoe Bend Parkway or at the 13 mile marker. They will also be hosting a BBQ and carnival before the fireworks (weather permitting). Call (573) 365-3000 for details.
