Six Safety Reminders for Lake Stock Fall Crawl

Lake Stock Fall Crawl is a pub crawl held at the Lake of the Ozarks every year in the fall. With 10+ locations and hundreds of participants, it is always a big night filled with plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment. This year's event is going to be on Saturday, November 5th. The night is usually lots of fun, but it also opens the door to potential injuries and accidents. This year, the team at Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter, & Welch, P.C. is here to help keep you and your friends/family safe with these safety reminders.

Lake Stock Fall Crawl 2016 ~ Safety Reminders

1. Don't Drink And Drive

Driving while intoxicated is both dangerous and illegal. Lake Stock Fall Crawl provides bus transportation to and from each participating bar as well as several participating hotels. For your safety and everyone else's, please use the buses, a taxi service, or another designated driver if you plan to drink.

2. Watch Your Drinks At All Times
The Crawl is designed to provide people with an opportunity to let go of their inhibitions and enjoy a fun night with their friends. Unfortunately, it may also put people at risk of being taken advantage of by sexual predators. Be extra cautious to avoid drinking anything that may have been drugged or otherwise tampered with. Don't accept drinks from strangers and never leave your drink unattended.

3. Use The Buddy System
The buddy system is a great way to ensure that you and your friends stay safe at the Crawl. By staying in groups with a minimum of two people, you can watch each other's backs and offer assistance when necessary.

4. Follow The Rules
The rules of Lake Stock Fall Crawl are designed to help keep everyone safe by ensuring that none of the festivities (or the participants) get too out of hand. Follow the Crawl rules and obey the instructions of bar staff at all times.

5. Eat Plenty Of Food
If you drink on an empty stomach, the effects of the alcohol are likely to be much stronger. Eat dinner before going out, and snack along the way. By keeping food in your stomach at all times, you will be able to pace yourself more easily.

6. Stay Hydrated
Drinking large quantities of alcohol when dehydrated can make you more likely to be sick. Unfortunately, alcohol in itself is dehydrating, so you have to work extra hard to stay hydrated while you are out. Drink lots of water on the day of the Crawl leading up to the event, and drink at least one glass of water at every location you visit.
