2 worthy events happening at the Lake of the Ozarks - Polar Plunge and Daybreak Rotary Winterfest

The Law Offices of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter, & Welch P.C. support many community events in the Lake of the Ozarks area.  We wanted to share some details on two upcoming events that we think are particularly worthy...The Polar Plunge and the Daybreak Rotary Winterfest.

2014 Polar Plunge at the Lake of the Ozarks - February 22nd

This "unbearable" event is a unique opportunity to show your bravery as you support local Special Olympics athletes by walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri’s year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Event Location: Public Beach No. 2
Event Schedule: Registration - 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Parade of Costumes line up for judging - 1:50 pm
Parade of Costumes- 2:00 pm
Announcements & Plunger's Oath - 2:15 pm
Plunge Begins! - 2:30 pm
Post Plunge Party at Tan-Tar-A Resort - 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Participants must be at least 10 years old and raise a minimum of $75 by event day. The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run(R) for Special Olympics Missouri. Osage Beach Police Department is proud to host this event.


You may mail offline donations to: Special Olympics Missouri, 903 Old 63 North, Suite A, Columbia, MO 65201. Please include your name in the memo line of checks.


Per State Park Policy, alcoholic beverages will be allowed only in the designated picnic areas. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted in any parking area or the plunge event area. Plunge participants considered intoxicated to the point of potentially causing harm to themselves or others will not be allowed to plunge and may be removed from the event area. Park Rangers will be on duty to ensure participants follow the policy.
