Meet Dana Stoufer

Meet Dana Stoufer! Twenty years ago last March, I walked through the doors of Phillips, McElyea, Carpenter & Welch, P.C. as an employee.  I served as a Legal Secretary to one of our attorneys and thoroughly enjoyed my employment.  After the birth of my daughter, I was forced to take a short sabbatical to stay home and care for my child, but during that time, provided fill-in work for the firm when needed.  I came back part-time at the Osage Beach office in 1998 and began working in the probate field. I remain concentrated in the probate field to present date as a Legal Assistant.  I am often asked why I enjoy working in the probate field, as it would seem to be redundant.  This could not be further from the truth.  Working in the probate field contains a vast array of diversity and enables you to venture into almost every aspect of the law.  You are required to delve into real estate law, estate law, family law, bankruptcy, financial...

Once you have created a Trust, if all property is successfully transferred into the name of the Trust, your assets upon your death will be distributed in accordance with the provisions of your Trust, free and clear of probate.
