Top Law Schools in the USA

Because we are dedicated to helping the next generation of lawyers succeed, we put together a list of the top five law schools in the United States for all the prospective law students out there. We hope this helps you on your journey! (List taken from top-law-schools.com.)

Yale University - New Haven, Connecticut
As the best (and arguably the most well-known) law school in the country, Yale prides itself on providing an unmatched educational, intellectual, and cultural experience. Graduates of Yale have gone on to pursue careers as state and federal lawyers, Supreme Court Justices, and even U.S. Presidents. Their 8:1 student to faculty ratio creates a personal educational environment that is truly phenomenal.
Fun Fact: This university was originally named the "Collegiate School." The name was changed to Yale in 1718 to honor a gift from governor of British East India Company, Elihu Yale.

Harvard University - Boston, Massachusetts
Harvard was established in 1636, earning it the title of of the oldest higher education institution in the United States. Over 360,000 graduates have completed their degrees at this prestigious university and have gone on to pursue elite, lucrative, and rewarding careers. Harvard is ideal for students looking to "push the boundaries of human knowledge." The law school offers several disciplines, so students can focus on their true passions.
Fun Fact: Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates launched Facebook from their dormitories on Harvard's campus.

Stanford University - Stanford, California
Despite being home to 6,980 undergraduate students and 8,897 graduate students, Stanford boasts an unparalleled 5:1 student to faculty ratio. 97% of the undergraduate students live on campus, each contributing to an enriching and rewarding college experience. Located in California's bay area, Stanford contributes to one of the United States' "most intellectually dynamic and culturally diverse parts" of our beautiful country.
Fun Fact: Google, Hulett-Packard, Nike, Sun Microsystems, and Yahoo! were all founded by Stanford faculty and alumni.

Columbia University - New York City, New York
Columbia University is known as an incredibly prestigious university, and for good reason. Last year, only 7% of students who applied were offered admission. It is precisely this selective nature that allows Columbia to cultivate their close-knit and supportive educational environment. In addition to a rigorous course schedule, Columbia offers its students a variety of workshops and lectures to further their well-rounded college experience.
Fun Fact: The Columbia University campus encompasses more than six city blocks (the equivalent of thirty-two acres).

University of Missouri School of Law - Columbia, Missouri
The Alma Mater for all of lawyers at the Lake's most trusted law firm, MU School of Law holds a special place in our hearts. Part of this university's mission statement reads, "As a national leader in the field of dispute resolution, we seek to complement a strong traditional curriculum with an orientation toward lawyering as a problem-solving endeavor." We can personally attest to their outstanding curricula and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a career as a lawyer in Missouri.

Whichever university you choose, you should be sure that it will challenge and support you intellectually and culturally. College is the perfect time to step outside of your comfort zone and push yourself to reach new heights. Your Lake of the Ozarks lawyers wish you the very best of luck on your legal careers!
